In the early part of my career, I worked as a National Training Manager for two retail companies. During this time, I became increasingly concerned that training (as widely implemented) had critical deficiencies and was not nearly as effective as it could and should have been.
This opening post begins with some definitions of ‘learning’ and ‘learning theories’. I then highlight nine major learning theories. In subsequent posts, I will provide concise summaries and analyses of each theory.
